Dr. Garima Aggarwal

Dr. Garima Aggarwal has over 24 years of experience in disaster risk management (DRM). She holds Ph.D. & M.A. in Geography from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi (2014; 2001) and Master of Urban & Regional Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad (2003). Dr. Aggarwal’s areas of interest span urban resilience, risk assessment, risk mitigation, disaster management planning, mainstreaming DRR, governance & institutional strengthening, policy development and infrastructure resilience. Her work particularly focuses on capacity building related to earthquakes, urban floods, fires, and heatwaves. Throughout her career, she has worked with MHA (GoI), UNDP, India and Govt. of NCT of Delhi contributing to the implementation of national disaster management programmes.
Dr. Preeti Soni
Senior Consultant (IUIN-DRR)
Dr. Preeti Soni is an accomplished scholar and internationally certified trainer in the field of substance use disorder treatment, with over 23 years of experience in research, teaching, and training. She holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., MSW, and BSW in Social Work from the University of Delhi and is a recipient of the Senior Research Fellowship from ICMR-AIIMS, New Delhi. Her expertise spans social defence, focusing on psycho-social care, substance abuse, women and child welfare, elderly care, and disaster risk reduction (DRR). Currently serving as Senior Consultant at the National Institute of Disaster Management (MHA), she is spearheading Agenda-6 of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s 10-point agenda on DRR. Dr. Soni leads efforts to integrate DRR into higher education through the India Universities and Institutions Network on DRR, promoting research and capacity-building nationwide"
Ms. Nazia Khan
Senior Consultant (IPRO)
Nazia Khan is a senior media and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in television production, strategic communication, and public relations. She currently serves as Information & Public Relations Officer at the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), where she leads key initiatives in disaster risk communication, stakeholder engagement, and media literacy. As the in-charge of NIDM’s e-learning vertical, she has played a pivotal role in developing and uploading NIDM's training modules on the iGOT platform, designing specialized curricula, and enhancing access to online capacity-building programs. Her work spans collaboration with government bodies, UN agencies, and academic institutions to strengthen disaster resilience through communication and training.
Dr. Ravinder Singh
Senior Consultant
Dr. Ravinder Singh holds a Ph.D. from Kumaun University (2011), specializing in landslide disaster risk reduction with remote sensing and GIS. With more than 13 years of work experience in disaster risk reduction (DRR), he has expertise in mountain geo-hazards (landslides, snow avalanches, GLOF, LLOF), risk mitigation, formulation (policy, guidelines, strategy, DM plans, template for DPR preparation), capacity building/ training, project conceptualization and implementation (including M&E) etc. He authored book on Landslide Problems and Management in Himalaya and numerous other publications (international and national). He has held positions at DDMA Headquarter (UNDP-DRR), NIDM, NDMA, and the G20 DRR Working Group. Currently, he is Senior Consultant at NIDM, working on publications of book on Disaster Management in India, Delhi Specific Crisis Management Plan on Biological Disasters, BIS Guidelines on Risk Assessment of GLOF & LLOF etc.
