Commerce Graduate from Delhi University in 1985. Joined NIDM as Consultant (Accounts) on 12-09-2024. He retired on March 31, 2024 from Defence Accounts Department (DAD) from the post of Deputy Controller of Defence Accounts (IDAS Cadre) after putting 36 years and 08 months service. During his long tenure, he handled Administration, Accounts and Audit work. He excelled in the field of Audit where he raised a number of Major Financial and Accounting Irregularities (MFAI) against the Services and gave Financial Advices to them. He underwent a number of Trainig courses on Finance and Accounting which includes three weeks course on "Best Practices in Financial Management" at National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad with Forign leg at Central Civil College in London (UK).

Consultant (Training Coordinator)

Hony Subedar Major (Retd) Adi Ram Yadav currently, he serves as Consultant Training Coordinator at the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM). He oversees the management of training programs, auditorium and seminar halls, classrooms, and the operation of IT equipment. Adi Ram Yadav retired from the Indian Army in 2017 after 30 years of dedicated service, where he gained extensive experience as an Operator. Prior to joining NIDM, he worked with Infosys Pvt. Limited in Jaipur. His diverse experience in both the defense and corporate sectors contributes significantly to the effective coordination and execution of training initiatives.

Dr. Ganesh Narayan Choudhary

Consultant (Academic Coordination)

Dr. Ganesh Narayan Choudhary is a Ph.D. in Social Work from Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer with expertise in mental health, counselling, and disaster risk reduction. Currently serving as Consultant (Academic Coordination) at NIDM, he coordinates the NIDM Internship Programme, membership for the Indian Universities and Institutions Network for DRR (IUINDRR), and contributes to disaster resilience capacity building of academic institutions. He has more than 5 years of experience in research, teaching, psychosocial interventions, and project coordination and implementation. Dr. Choudhary has worked with various government institutions such as Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Education, Indian Council of Medical Research, and NGOs.

Shri Arvind Kavia

Consultant (GIS)

A GIS professional with over 13 years of experience in geospatial data creation, analysis, and implementation, currently serving as Consultant (GIS) at the NIDM. He holds a postgraduate in Geography, a PG Diploma in Remote Sensing, GIS, and Digital Cartography. Prior to joining as Consultant (GIS/IDRN) NIDM, he served as Project Coordinator for the NIDM-GIZ grant under the Sustainable Urban Development Smart Cities-II (SUDSC-II) project, and as a GIS Expert with the Watershed Development and Soil Conservation Department, Government of Rajasthan. He has extensive experience in managing GIS-based projects, developing spatial databases, and executing remote sensing and surveying activities. He possesses demonstrated expertise in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and urban resilience through national-level initiatives in collaboration with GIZ and the Government of India. Currently, he is engaged in the GIS development and management of the India Disaster Resource Network (IDRN) portal, along with the coordination of the Urban Resilience Knowledge Vertical hosted on the IUINDRR platform. His core competencies include stakeholder coordination, capacity building, portal management, and policy integration in support of sustainable development and emergency response planning.

Shri Shobhit Sharma

Consultant (Web Designing)

Shobhit Sharma holds a post graduate degree in Computer Applications (MCA) and has over 12 years of experience in graphic and web design, primarily within government organizations. He is currently serving as a Consultant (Web Designing) at NIDM, where he specializes in website design and development, multimedia creation, branding and proficient in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and various web technologies. His work focuses on delivering user-friendly, accessible and visually appealing digital experiences that comply with government guidelines and standards. Prior to joining NIDM, he worked with the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi.

Shri Amandeep Singh

Consultant (E-Learning)

Amandeep Singh, an MBA-qualified professional with 14 years of experience in training and e-learning, has a strong background in developing and managing impactful learning programs. With prior experience at National Productivity Council, he coordinated residential and non-residential training programs, handled logistics and budgets, and collaborated with subject matter experts. At the Indian Institute of Public Administration, he supported trainers, managed training databases, evaluated feedback, and contributed to performance improvement initiatives. Currently, he serves in the e-Learning Cell at the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), where he oversees end-to-end course planning, curriculum development, and strategic course branding. He ensures quality delivery through expert coordination, continuous progress monitoring, and test runs. Proficient in Moodle, WebEx, and iGOT platforms, he also manages system operations, including hardware maintenance, security compliance, and data management. Amandeep has led the ITEC and NIDM CBC accreditation processes and is dedicated to creating practical, high-impact training programs that build relevant skills.

Shri Shreyash Dwivedi

Consultant (RID)

Shreyash Dwivedi is currently working as consultant in Resilient Infrastructure Division of NIDM. He has more than five years of experience in DRR, community resilience, social security and academic research. He has worked on various national and regional projects focusing on mapping hazards, livelihood security and capacity-building initiatives for government officials. He has authored publications on key topics such as, forest fire, climate resilience, urban flood and tribal livelihoods. His interest areas are urban disaster risk reduction (floods and fires), tribal livelihoods and use of geospatial technologies. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Geography and holds a PG Diploma in RS & GIS, along with advanced certificates in DRR and tribal studies.

Dr. Sweta Rani

Consultant (Content Creation)

Dr. Sweta Rani is Consultant (Content Creation) at the Media, Communication & Public Relations Cell, NIDM. She holds a PhD in Mass Communication with a specialization in Disaster Risk Communication from Mizoram Central University. With over seven years' experience in content creation and media, Dr. Rani’s work spans disaster communication, strategic communication, cultural studies, and gender studies. Acknowledged as a "Champion of Change" by the Government of Bihar for her contributions to women’s empowerment, she has authored multiple publications, including Scopus- and UGC-listed journal articles, peer-reviewed papers, and book chapters.

Ms. Azra Mahwash, a Consultant in the Resilient Infrastructure Division at NIDM, is a registered Architect with COA, New Delhi. A Gold Medalist in both M.Arch. and B.Arch., her expertise encompasses Sustainable Architecture, Energy-Efficient Buildings, Building Performance Analysis, and Urban Land & Services Management, seamlessly integrating these areas with DRR. Honored with the Pidilite Award for Excellence, she also holds a Direct Trainer Skills Certificate from DoPT, GoI. She possesses extensive experience in training professionals and students, emphasizing the ecology-economics-development nexus for resilience. Her diverse field experience spans both private and government sectors and is highlighted by her award-winning architectural projects. With such a comprehensive background, Ms. Azra significantly contributes research-driven insights and practical knowledge to NIDM's mission of fostering a disaster-free and resilient India.

Ms Supreetha

Consultant (Publication)

A postgraduate in Mass Communication and Journalism, bringing over 16 years of rich experience in media and communication. Served as a senior journalist with leading state-level newspapers in Karnataka, including Times of India (Kannada), Hosadigantha, Kannada Prabha, Vijayavani, and the United News Agency (UNI). Also empanelled as a Simultaneous Interpreter for Kannada in the Lok Sabha, Parliament of India, providing real-time interpretation services during parliamentary sessions for two years. At NIDM, associated with the Publication Division, contributing to the planning, editing, and production of institutional publications; coordinating multilingual content development; supporting dissemination strategies; and ensuring quality communication material aligned with the institute’s outreach and capacity-building objectives.

Dr. Prateek Roshan

Consultant (RID)

Prateek Roshan is a Consultant in the Resilient Infrastructure Division at NIDM Delhi. A gold medalist in both B.Tech (Civil Engineering) and M.Tech (Structural Engineering), he received the University Commendable Research Excellence Award during his PhD from Delhi Technological University for his work on performance assessment of buildings on hill slopes. He is a certified Chartered Engineer (India) and a Professional Affiliate Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He has authored over a dozen SCIE and Scopus-indexed research publications. Having worked as a structural design engineer, engineering faculty, and academic researcher, Prateek brings research-driven insights and practical skills to support NIDM’s mission of disaster-free and resilient India.

Dr. Ramandeep Kaur

Consultant

Ramandeep Kaur is currently involved in the updation of the national document "Disaster Management in India", originally published in 2011, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Surya Parkash and Dr. Ravinder Singh, Senior Consultant at NIDM. She completed her Master’s in Geology from Panjab University in 2019 and earned her Ph.D. in 2025 from Kurukshetra University, with a specialization in landslide hazard appraisal in NW Himalaya using artificial intelligence and geospatial techniques such as InSAR. She has published four research articles in reputed peer-reviewed international journals and contributed one book chapter. She is a recipient of the CSIR fellowship and has presented her findings at national and international platforms. With a passion for earth sciences and disaster risk reduction, she is committed to contributing towards sustainable development and policy making in India.

Ms. Atisha Sood

Consultant

Atisha Sood is a Consultant at the Centre for Disaster and Health, National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), New Delhi. With almost six years of experience at NIDM and in the field, she works on mainstreaming health resilience in disaster risk reduction. Her role includes technical support, capacity building, policy advocacy, and coordination with ministries and institutions on health-emergency preparedness. She has led and contributed to several national-level workshops, training modules, and knowledge products, and continues to support research, documentation, and institutional strengthening initiatives in disaster and public health management.

Dr. Kundan Deval

Consultant (IUINDRR)

Dr. Kundan Deval is a climate and disaster risk management professional with extensive experience in environmental risk management research, capacity building, and institutional coordination. At the National Institute of Disaster Management, she has contributed to academic and technical publications, development of training modules, and supporting capacity building on climate resilience. Her prior work includes engagements with JICA on digital transformation in forestry systems and wetland management. She holds a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, with research on carbon stock management and policy integration. She has published her work in peer-reviewed journals and has received national recognition for her work.
