Shri Madhup Vyas is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2000 batch from the AGMUT cadre. He has assumed charge of Executive Director, National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) on 18.09.2025. His educational qualifications include BA (Hon’s.) Political Science, LLB & LLM from University of Delhi and M. Phil. in National Security from Madras University. Sh. Vyas is an alumnus of National Defence College, New Delhi.

Shri Vyas has worked at various levels in Goa, Lakshadweep, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Mizoram and Delhi Government. In Govt. of India, he has worked in Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Urban Development, and Department of Commerce & Industry.

Shri Vyas has worked in senior administrative capacities including Commissioner & Secretary in Departments of Health & Family Welfare, Power, Environment & Forests, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Cooperation, besides being Development Commissioner, and Municipal Commissioner in Delhi. He has worked as Commissioner & Secretary, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Tribal Affairs, Commerce & Industry, and Higher & Technical Education Departments in Govt. of Mizoram. As Chief Electoral Officer in Mizoram, he successfully conducted the Assembly elections in 2023 and Parliamentary elections in 2024.

At the district level, he has served as Deputy Commissioner in North West Delhi and Collector & Development Commissioner in Lakshadweep.

With his wide-ranging experience and proven leadership, Shri Madhup Vyas is guiding NIDM’s efforts in capacity building, disaster risk reduction and climate resilience.
