Southern Regional consultation Workshop on "Health Resilience and Capacity Building", Hyderabad, Telangana, 14th November 2019

Health Resilience and Capacity Workshop, Hotel Mercure, Hyderabad. 14 November 2019. Organized by NIDM, WHO and NCDC under HER- CAP project, National Climate Change Mission on Health. Attended by 27 experts from National Institutes and States and UTs of Southern India.




High Level Delegation of Chinese Government visited NIDM on 07th November 2019

Visit of High Level Delegation of Chinese Government on Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management.A high level delegation from Chinese Government, led by the Vice Minister Mr. ZHENG Guoguang, Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), and Administrator of China Earthquake Administration (CEA) with other 6 senior level officials from China, visited NIDM on 7th November 2019, to discuss mutual cooperation in training research education and other professional cooperation. From NIDM, ED Major Gen. Manoj Kumar Bindal led the discussions..Dr Anil Gupta, Head of CECR and ECDRM at NIDM made a presentation on institute's activities, whereas all Heads of Divisions Prof Santosh Kumar and Dr Surya Parkash participated in deliberations. From China side Mr. LIU Weimin, Director General, Department of International Cooperation and Rescue, MEM Emergency Management, Mr. LIU Weimin, Director General, Department of International Cooperation and Rescue, MEM, Mr. YANG Xiaodong, Deputy Director General, Department of Disaster Relief and Supplies Support, MEM, Mr. WEI Zhenkuan, Director General, National Disaster Reduction Center, MEM, Mr. ZHENG Li, Director, Department of International Cooperation and Rescue, MEM, Ms. ZHU Fangfang, Director, Department of Science and Technology & International Cooperation, CEA, joined Mr. ZHENG Guoguang, Vice Minister of Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), and Administrator of China Earthquake Administration (CEA), in deliberations whereas officials from China Embassy in India, Mr. Bai Jie, Counsellor of Science and Technology Section, Mr. Shan Zuhua, Second Secretary of Science and Technology Section, were present. Both parties agreed for cooperation in joint academic programmes and exchange of faculty also, besides publications and research supervision.


Eastern and North-Eastern Regional consultation Workshop on "Health Resilience and Capacity Building", Kolkata, West Bengal, 04th November 2019

Centre for Excellence on Climate Resilience (CECR) at NIDM is entrusted for policy research planning and capacity building support to NAPCC and SAPCC implementation. CECR collaborates with UN, WHO, GIZ, CDKN, GGGI, SDC, UNU, York Univ., etc. and Springer Nature. For developing National Adaptation Plan for Health Sector, Regional Consultation Workshop for North Eastern and Eastern States and UTs, organized at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Kolkata on 4th Nov. 2019. Attended by NCDC, IMD, WHO, National and state level experts on health, environment, industry, health,disaster management, planning,etc.


Northern Regional consultation Workshop on "Health Resilience and Capacity Building", Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, 01st November 2019

NIDM's ECDRM Division is designated as Centre for Excellence on Climate Resilience, developing the National Health Adaptation Plan w.r.t. disaster related illnesses under the National Climate Change Mission on Health. WHO is supporting NIDM in form of a project HER-CAP (Health Resilience and Capacity Building). Under the HER-CAP project a regional consultation workshop on "Health Resilience and Capacity Building" for the northern States and UTs (J &K, Bihar, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttrakhand, Haryana and Delhi) held at Fairfield by Marriott, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) on 1st Nov. 2019, with the technical support of Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group. Delegates including Ministries, Govt. Officials, experts and representatives of knowledge partner organizations like WHO, IMD, NCDC, Medical and Other Universities and Colleges, State Governments SDMAs and Health Departments, Research Organizations, and experts, researchers, academicians, and professionals in the field of climate, disaster and health resilience.
