In order to provide a platform for interaction and integration of knowledge on various aspects of disaster risk reduction and management, India Disaster Management Congress shall be held  at New Delhi in November 2006.

Till such time  a society is registered for the Congress, the National Institute of Disaster Management, a statutory body created under the National Disaster Management Act, shall organize this event in collaboration with many partner organizations.

The Congress shall  deliberate on a large number of themes involving many disciplines  and subjects. This will be the largest such multi-disciplinary Congress ever organized any where in the world.
