State Resource Institutes

The identified State Resource Institutes (SRI) will conduct training programme for 10,000 practicing architects. The course would contain inputs on earthquake resistant design and construction including building byelaws/BIS codes and seismic safe constructions. In addition the SRIs will assist Municipal bodies in review and amendment of building byelaws. These Institutes will also provide consultation services for the State to assess seismic vulnerability and suggest retrofitting of key lifeline buildings.

The SRIs have trained 126 practicing architects till 2007-08. (SRI wise position of trained architects & funds)
