National Resource Institutes

At the National Level

Under the programme, seven institutions have been designated as National Resource Institutes (NRI). These institutions are:-

  1. IIT, Roorkee (www.iitr.ac.in)
  2. SPA, Delhi (www.spa.ac.in)
  3. MANIT, Bhopal (www.manit.ac.in)
  4. IIT, Kharagpur (www.iitkgp.ac.in)
  5. CEPT, Ahmedabad (www.cept.ac.in)
  6. MIT, Manipal (www.manipal.edu/mit)
  7. JNTU, Hyderabad (www.jntu.ac.in)

These institutions conduct training programmes for faculty members from State Resource Institutes (SRI) in a one week special module on seismically safe construction. In all, 250 faculty members are to be trained. For the ToT, as per syllabus decided by MHA, NRIs have prepared course modules and printed the material. The MHA/IIT Roorkee has developed and printed course curriculum and training materials for one week module for practising architects.

The NRIs have trained 223 faculty members of the SRIs till 2007-08. (NRI wise position of trained architects and funds - hyper link)
