Management
At the National Level
Ministry of Home Affairs is the Nodal Ministry for of the project. National
Institute of Disaster Management has been entrusted with execution of the
project w.e.f. 2008-09. A Project Management Board (PMB) has been constituted
under the Chairpersonship of Secretary (Border Management) in the MHA to provide
overall guidance to the programme. The project implementation is overseen by a
Programme Steering Committee (PSC) consisting of the members of the Core Group
on Earthquake Mitigation and representatives of CoA and IIA, and various
resource institutes across the country, under the chairmanship of the Executive
Director, NIDM with Joint Secretary (DM-II), MHA as co-chair.
At the State level
In each State/UT, the programme will be reviewed periodically by a Steering
Committee under the Relief Commissioner. The committee would have nominees of
CoA/ IIA, select members of the SRIs and subject matter specialists.
Role of NRIs/SRIs
The Resource Institutions at the National level will develop and print
course materials/ modules, conduct training of trainers of the SRI faculty
members and earthquake risk management aids/materials. The State level
Resource Institutions will provide training to the architects.
