Curriculum

A standard curriculum has been finalized in consultation with a core group for conducting training of trainers programme, a four weeks module. Broad contents of the curriculum include seismic hazard assessment, earthquake effects on structures, concepts of earthquake resistant design, geotechnical earthquake engineering, seismic base isolation, earthquake safe construction of new buildings, vulnerability assessment of existing buildings, seismic vulnerability reduction, techno-legal and techno-financial aspects, engineering drawing and GIS application, cyclone and fire resistant building construction. The participants will be thoroughly examined for their understanding on the topics covered during the course. This is to be conducted by NRIs.

Similarly, a standard course curriculum has been finalized for two weeks module for municipal/ PWD engineers and engineers in the private sector. The broad contents of the course material include elementary seismology, earthquake effects and earthquake damage, concepts of earthquake resistant design, earthquake safe construction of new buildings, vulnerability assessment of existing buildings, seismic vulnerability reduction, techno-legal and techno-financial aspects, engineering drawing, cyclone and fire resistant building construction. The participants will be examined for their learning in the topics covered during the course.
